TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters in Tampa should be aware of a full road closure on South Himes Avenue starting at 9:00 AM today, April 15, 2025. The closure affects all lanes of South Himes Avenue between West San Miguel Street North and West San Jose Street.
The Tampa Water Department has initiated the emergency closure to repair a water main break in the area. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and exercise caution while driving near the affected zone. Barricades and signage will be in place to guide traffic flow around the closure.

The Tampa Water Department anticipates that the necessary repairs and the reopening of South Himes Avenue will be completed by 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
