TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling on South Himes Avenue in Tampa should be aware of a lane closure beginning today, March 18, 2025.
The Tampa Water Department has initiated maintenance work that requires the closure of the outside southbound lane on South Himes Avenue between West Everett Avenue and West Van Buren Drive. The closure will be in effect starting at 9:00 AM each day.

Barricades and flaggers will be present to assist with rerouting traffic and managing traffic flow. All lanes are scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5:00 PM each day, with closures resuming at 9:00 AM the following morning to continue the maintenance work.
The Tampa Water Department anticipates completing the work and returning to normal traffic patterns by 5:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025. However, the work schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling in the area. The Tampa Water Department thanks the public for their patience during this necessary maintenance.
