TAMPA, Fla – Tampa drivers take note: East Columbus Drive will be closed between North Nebraska Avenue and North Avenida Republica de Cuba starting next week for utility repairs.
The closure will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12th, and is expected to last until the end of the workday on Friday, March 14th. Crews from the City of Tampa will be repairing a manhole ring and cover in the area.
Detours will be in place to reroute traffic around the closure, with variable message boards, signage, and barricades to guide motorists. Access to businesses and residences in the area will be maintained.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays and congestion.
The city anticipates that the repairs and restoration of the roadway will be completed by Friday, March 14th, at which time normal traffic patterns will resume. However, work schedules are contingent upon weather conditions.
