TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers heading north on Nebraska Avenue in Tampa should prepare for significant delays today, February 26th, 2025, as all northbound lanes will be closed between East Ida Street and East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The closure, which begins at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until 4 p.m., is necessary for the Tampa Water Department to perform maintenance on the water distribution system.

Drivers are strongly encouraged to find alternate routes and allow extra travel time. Barricades and signs will be in place to help direct traffic and minimize confusion.
The Tampa Water Department also noted that the work schedule may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
