TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Water Department is advising motorists of several lane closures throughout the city today to accommodate essential maintenance and water main repairs.
Lane Closure on East Columbus Drive
Beginning at 9:00 AM today, the outside eastbound lane on East Columbus Drive will be closed between North 19th Street and North 18th Street for maintenance on the water distribution system.
- Duration: The closure is expected to last until 5:00 PM on Friday, January 17th.

Lane Closure on South Plant Avenue
Beginning at 9:00 AM today, the outside northbound lane on South Plant Avenue will be closed between West Beach Place and West Hyde Park Place for maintenance on the water distribution system.
- Duration: The closure is expected to last until 4:00 PM on Friday, January 17th.
Lane Closure on North Dale Mabry Highway
Beginning at 9:00 AM today, the outside southbound lane of North Dale Mabry Highway will be closed between West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and West Alva Street. This closure is necessary to complete road restoration following earlier work to repair a water main break.
- Duration: Road restoration activities are expected to be completed by 5:00 PM today.
Barricades and signs will be in place to assist with rerouting and traffic flow in all affected areas. Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid potential delays.
The Tampa Water Department may need to return at a later date to complete additional work on any of these projects. Updates will be provided if necessary.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling in these areas and be aware of workers and equipment.
