TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers in Tampa should anticipate lane closures on North Himes Avenue today as the Tampa Water Department completes road restoration work.
Beginning at 9:00 AM, all southbound lanes of North Himes Avenue will be closed between West Gray Street and West North B Street. This closure is necessary to allow crews to finalize repairs and restore the roadway following earlier work on the water distribution system.

Barricades and signs will be in place to assist with rerouting traffic. Drivers are encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid potential delays.
The Tampa Water Department anticipates that the road restoration will be finished by 4:00 PM today, at which time North Himes Avenue will reopen to normal traffic flow. However, the schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling in the area and be mindful of crews and equipment.
