TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters in Tampa will need to navigate temporary lane closures on two major roadways starting this morning as the Tampa Water Department undertakes essential maintenance work on the water distribution system.
Beginning at 9:00 AM today, the outside westbound lane on East 17th Avenue will be closed between North 28th Street and North 29th Street. This closure is expected to remain in effect until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, April 30th.
Simultaneously, starting at 9:00 AM today, the outside westbound lane on West Hillsborough Avenue will be closed between Daniels Road and Hanley Road. This lane closure is anticipated to last until 4:00 PM on Friday, May 2nd.
The Tampa Water Department will have barricades and signage in place at both locations to help manage traffic flow. Drivers are strongly encouraged to consider alternate routes to avoid potential delays and to exercise caution when traveling through these areas.
It is important to note that modifications to the lane closures may become necessary as the work progresses. The completion of the maintenance and the return to normal traffic patterns are dependent on weather conditions.
