TAMPA. Fla. – Drivers in Tampa should be aware of a lane closure on West Platt Street due to a water main break.

Starting at 9:00 AM today, the outside eastbound lane of West Platt Street will be closed between South Delaware Avenue and South Edison Avenue. This closure is necessary to allow crews from the Tampa Water Department to repair the broken water main.

Barricades and signs will be in place to help direct traffic flow. Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the area.

The lane closure is expected to be in effect until 5:00 PM on Friday, December 13th. However, the Tampa Water Department has indicated that they may need to return at a later date to complete additional work. An update will be provided if further closures are necessary.

The work schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
