TAMPA, Fla. – Starting at 9 a.m. today, the Tampa Water Department will close the southbound lane of North Rome Avenue between West Erna Drive and West Johnston Avenue for scheduled water maintenance.
Traffic will be rerouted with the assistance of barricades and flaggers. The lane will reopen at 5 p.m. each day and close again at 9 a.m. the following morning until the work is completed. However, all lanes will be open during the Labor Day weekend from Saturday, August 31, through Monday, September 2.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be finished by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4. The Tampa Water Department appreciates the public’s patience during this time.
