Tampa Traffic Alert: I-275 Ramp To I-4 Closing Nightly For Construction

TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers in Tampa should be prepared for nightly closures of the southbound I-275 ramp to eastbound I-4.

Starting Sunday, January 5th, through Wednesday, January 8th, the ramp (Exit 45B) will be closed from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night, weather permitting.

These closures are necessary for crews to carry out construction activities as part of the I-275 Capacity Improvements project.

Detour Information

Motorists will be detoured around the work zone via the following route:

  • Continue south on I-275.
  • Exit the interstate using Exit 45A (Jefferson Street).
  • Keep left at the fork toward Downtown East.
  • Turn left onto Scott Street.
  • Re-enter the interstate using the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.

Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the detour. Motorists should exercise caution in the work zone and be alert for construction workers.
