TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists on East Columbus Drive in Tampa should be aware of a lane closure in effect today, March 24, 2025.
The Tampa Water Department has closed the outside eastbound lane of East Columbus Drive between North 17th Street and North 20th Street. This closure is to allow crews to complete a more permanent restoration following earlier maintenance work on the water distribution system.

Barricades and signs are in place to assist with traffic flow. Drivers are advised to use caution while traveling in the area, as modifications to the lane closures may be necessary.
Road restoration activities are expected to be completed by 4 p.m. today, at which time the road will be reopened for normal traffic flow. The Tampa Water Department reminds the public that restoration schedules are contingent upon weather conditions and appreciates everyone’s patience during this time.
