TAMPA, Fla. – Commuters in downtown Tampa should prepare for traffic disruptions as the intersection of E Scott Street and N Morgan Street will be closed starting Tuesday, March 11, for emergency utility repairs.
The City of Tampa has announced that a department contractor will begin work at 9 a.m. to repair a sewer mainline pipe and address a cave-in at the intersection.
To facilitate the repairs, E Scott Street will be closed at N Morgan Avenue.

Motorists are advised to follow the recommended detour:
- Travel eastbound on Cass Street.
- Proceed northbound on Orange Avenue.
Variable message boards, detour signs, and barricades will be deployed to guide drivers around the closed intersection. Motorists are urged to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
The repair work and cave-in restoration are expected to be completed by the end of the business day on Friday, March 14, at which point normal traffic patterns will resume.
