TAMPA, Fla. – The previously scheduled lane closure on South Dale Mabry Highway between West Gandy Boulevard and the ramp to the Selmon Expressway has been canceled.

The Tampa Water Department announced the cancellation today, February 24, 2025, citing a change in the requested work requirements for the planned water main maintenance.

The lane closure, which was originally scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and last until 4 p.m., would have impacted northbound traffic flow. However, with the cancellation, drivers can now expect normal traffic patterns in the area.


PREVIOUS REPORT: Motorists traveling northbound on South Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa should expect delays today, February 24, 2025, due to a lane closure. The Tampa Water Department has announced that the outside northbound lane will be closed between West Gandy Boulevard and the ramp to the Selmon Expressway for essential maintenance on the water distribution system.

The closure began at 9 a.m. and is expected to last until 4 p.m. today. While the lane closure will impact traffic flow, the ramp to the Selmon Expressway will remain open and unaffected.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes if possible and to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone. Barricades and signage have been placed to guide motorists and assist with traffic flow.

The department also noted that the work schedule is contingent upon weather conditions.
