TAMPA, Fla – On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Tampa Fire Rescue and the Tampa Police Department will join forces to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks with a solemn memorial ceremony at the Tampa Firefighters Museum.
The event, scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., will feature prominent figures such as Tampa Fire Rescue Chief Barbara Tripp, Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw, and City of Tampa Chief of Staff John Bennett.

JoAnne Rice, Director of the State of Florida’s Fire Marshal’s Office, will deliver the keynote address, offering reflections on the enduring legacy of that tragic day.
The ceremony will pay tribute to the victims of 9/11 and honor the bravery of the first responders who risked their lives to save others.
It will also serve as a moment of unity and remembrance for the Tampa community, reinforcing the values of heroism and resilience in the face of adversity.
