TAMPA, FL. – A new recycling and trash collection schedule is now available for Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
In observance of Christmas Day, City of Tampa offices will be closed on Friday, December 24, 2020 and Monday, December 27, 2021. In observance of New Year’s Day, City of Tampa offices will be closed Friday, December 31, 2021.
Residential Customers who receive collection Thursday or Friday will be affected. Thursday and Friday collection will run one day early for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Holiday.
The week of December 20th, Thursday collection will take place one day early, on Wednesday, December 22nd. Friday Collection will take place one day early on Thursday, December 23rd.
The week of December 27th, Thursday collection will take place one day early on Wednesday, December 29th. Friday Collection will take place one day early on Thursday, December 30th.
Regular collection schedules will resume Monday, January 3, 2022.
Commercial Customers service will be unaffected for both holiday weeks; service will run as usual through Friday, December 31, 2021.
McKay Bay Transfer Station and Scale House, located at 114 S. 34th St., will close at noon on December 24 and remain closed through December 26, 2021. Normal operating hours will resume on December 27-30.
The Facility will be closed at noon on December 31 and will remain closed through January 2, 2022.
Normal operating hours will resume on January 3, 2022.
The City of Tampa Solid Waste Department will begin offering curbside Christmas Tree Collection Service, at no additional charge, on Monday, December 27, 2021.
To take advantage of this service, residents must:
– remove all decorations and lights
– cut tree limbs to four (4) feet lengths, and;
– bundle, and place curbside on their regularly scheduled yard waste collection day prior to January 7, 2022.
All discarded lights and/or decorations are not recyclable and must be placed in the garbage cart (not recycling cart).
