TAMPA, Fla. – The City of Tampa Solid Waste Department is working to collect storm debris from Hurricane Helene, but services will be adjusted due to the approaching Hurricane Milton. Regular trash and recycling pickup will continue today, but residents are asked to secure their carts after service.
Storm Debris Collection Halting
Storm debris collection will be suspended tomorrow, Wednesday, October 9th, at 3:00 PM. Not all neighborhoods will receive service before the storm. Residents are urged to secure any storm debris for their safety and to prevent it from becoming a hazard during the hurricane.

McKay Bay Transfer Station Available
Residents and businesses can dispose of hurricane-related debris at the McKay Bay Transfer Station. Tampa residents with a solid waste account can dispose of accepted items for free. Proof of residency is required. The McKay Bay Transfer Station will close today, Tuesday, October 8th, at 5:00 PM.
