TAMPA, Fla. – A road rage incident on I-75 near Fletcher Avenue on April 4, 2025, involved a driver firing a gun at another vehicle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
At approximately 10:45 PM, a 25-year-old Tampa woman was driving a Hyundai Veloster northbound on I-75. She observed another driver operating a 2000s model Honda CR-V erratically.
When the Honda began to merge into her lane, the woman honked her horn. The driver of the Honda responded by discharging a firearm, with the bullet striking the right rear door of the Hyundai.

The woman driving the Hyundai left the scene and contacted law enforcement. Upon arrival, authorities located and recovered the bullet. A 23-year-old Tampa man and a one-year-old child were also in the Hyundai; all three occupants were uninjured.
The suspect is described as a 25-year to 35-year-old heavy-set African American male with a short beard.
The FHP is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact them by calling *FHP (*347) or to provide anonymous tips by calling Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
