TAMPA, Fla. – With tropical storm watches in effect for most of the Tampa Bay area, the City of Tampa is calling on residents to prepare for potential severe weather.

Key recommendations include:

  • Prepare an Emergency Kit: Ensure you have enough food, water, and medicine for each household member to last at least three days.
  • Clear Debris: Remove debris from gutters and secure loose outdoor items.
  • Obtain Sandbags: Sandbags are available for properties, particularly those in flood-prone areas. Sandbagging sites are open Friday and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Himes Avenue, Al Barnes Park, and Al Lopez Park.
