TAMPA, Fla. – A woman has died in a structure fire that happened early Thursday on E. Chelsea St., according to police.
Just after 1:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023, Tampa Police officers responded to the report of a house on fire in the 2500 block of E. Chelsea St.
Officers arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames. Tampa Fire Rescue responded to extinguish the fire.

Tragically, one person was found deceased inside the home, police say. The victim has been identified as an adult female.
Although early in this active investigation, there is currently nothing to suggest a criminal component to the investigation. Investigators from both the Tampa Police Department and Tampa Fire Rescue will continue working to determine the exact cause of the fire.
