TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department is set to conduct a specialized water training session for law enforcement K9 units from across the Tampa Bay area. This unique training will take place on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 10:00 am at Adventure Island Water Park, taking advantage of the park’s facilities before its seasonal closure.

With the abundance of waterways in the region, K9 units often need to be prepared for water-based searches.

This training will help familiarize the dogs with aquatic environments and improve their proficiency in tracking suspects and apprehending individuals who may attempt to escape by jumping into water bodies.

During the session, K9 teams will participate in various exercises designed to simulate real-world scenarios. This exposure to diverse environments will better prepare the canine officers to handle a wider range of situations they may encounter in the line of duty.

The Tampa Police Department expressed its gratitude to Adventure Island for their ongoing support of this valuable K9 training initiative, recognizing their contribution to community safety.
