TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department has terminated a volunteer Reserve Officer after she was arrested in connection with an off-duty incident involving alleged child abuse.
On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the department announced the termination of Ada Terman Paulino, following her arrest on charges of child abuse.
The investigation began on March 22, 2025, when a juvenile victim, accompanied by an adult, reported an altercation involving Terman Paulino.

The victim alleged that three days prior, Terman Paulino had struck her in the face multiple times and choked her, impeding her ability to breathe. The victim sustained minor physical injuries, which were still visible at the time of the report. The victim and Terman Paulino are known to each other.
The alleged incident occurred while Terman Paulino was off-duty and not performing official duties. She was subsequently arrested by Tampa Police and charged with child abuse.
Terman Paulino, who joined the department as a volunteer Reserve Officer in 2022, was immediately relieved of duty and has since been terminated.

Reserve Officers are volunteer members of the Tampa Police Department, trained to assist with emergencies and special events, allowing full-time patrol officers to remain focused on their primary patrol responsibilities.
