Tampa Police Need Your Help In Locating 22-Year-Old Missing Autistic Man

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police are asking for the community to notify them if they see 22-year-old Hiro Verdecia. Hiro is a Hispanic male, 5’9″ and approximately 135 pounds.

Hiro was last seen on July 12, 2022, at his home in the 4400 block of W. Iowa Avenue, where he was wearing a long-sleeved forest green shirt, gray sweatpants, forest green sneakers, and carrying a gray backpack.

Hiro has a tattoo on his right arm of a yellow sunflower and sometimes wears a patch or mask over one eye. The photos are from a video he took the last day he was seen by family.

Hiro has been diagnosed with autism. Hiro also does not have his medication with him. A Purple Alert was issued by FDLE.

Hiro last had contact with his family on July 13, but no longer has his phone.

There have been reports that Hiro may have been in the 900 block of E. Fowler Avenue near the McDonald’s and in the Ybor entertainment district since leaving his home.
