Tampa Police Investigating Homicide Of Teenager

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police detectives are investigating the homicide of a teenage boy that occurred Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 8200 block of Hillsborough Lane just before 6:00 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a black male in his mid-teens with upper body trauma. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While the investigation is in its early stages, detectives believe the individuals involved were known to each other. Positive identification of the victim and notification of next of kin are pending.
