Tampa Police Investigating After Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Crosstown Expressway

TAMPA, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed on the Crosstown Expressway near the intersection of W Gandy Blvd and Bridge St. on Wednesday night.

According to Tampa Police, officers responded to the scene just after 11:00 PM and found an adult male deceased in the roadway.

Investigators believe the pedestrian was struck by at least two vehicles that were exiting the expressway. A witness reported seeing the victim crawling in the roadway prior to the incident. The pedestrian was not wearing reflective clothing and was dressed in all black.

The drivers of the two vehicles involved remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. However, police believe a third vehicle, a white four-door sedan, may have also struck the pedestrian.
