TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police are actively investigating a homicide that occurred at Copeland Park earlier this evening. An adult black male in his early 20s was fatally shot following a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical fight.
The incident took place at 7:16 PM when officers responded to reports of a shooting at the park. Upon arrival, they discovered the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim and the suspect, described as a thin, balding black male, engaged in a verbal dispute that turned violent. The suspect then shot the victim before fleeing the scene on a bicycle.
