TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police are investigating an early morning shooting. The victim was in front of the Habibi Hookah Lounge when a verbal argument between the victim’s cousin and the unknown suspect escalated to a physical altercation. The victim, a 31-year old black male, was attempting to break up the fight when he was shot in the leg.
The suspect, described as a black male with long dreadlocks pulled to the top of his head, and wearing a white shirt and pink shorts, was last seen heading southbound on foot from the scene of the shooting. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are working to develop leads in the case. It was reported that neither the victim nor his cousin, knew the suspect prior to this incident.
