Tampa Police Department Awards $35,000 To Eight Local Community Organizations

TAMPA, Fla. – The Tampa Police Department (TPD) is investing in a safer and stronger community through its TPD C.A.R.E.S. (Community and Resources Enhancing Success) program.

The program has awarded a total of $35,000 in funding to eight local organizations focused on crime prevention, community engagement, youth development, and other vital services.

“This investment in our community partners is another step forward in making Tampa a safer and stronger community,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “By supporting these organizations, we are working together to address the root causes of crime and quality of life concerns, leading to a more positive future for all residents.”

The selected organizations will be honored at an award ceremony today, Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, at 4:00 pm at the Tampa Police Headquarters.

The event will recognize their valuable contributions to the community and their dedication to creating a safer and more vibrant Tampa.
