TAMPA, FL. – Tampa police have arrested a 37-year-old woman in connection with a bank robbery and bomb scare on Thursday.
According to police at approximately 2:23 PM, 37-year-old Danielle C. Di Mari entered the Bank of America located at 100 N West Shore BL and asked to speak with a manager.
Investigators say that once the bank manager approached him, Danielle played a recording on her cell phone advising that a bomb had been planted inside of the bank, and that if the bank’s money was not turned over, the bomb would be detonated.
Danielle possessed a device with a wire exposed, appearing to be a detonator.
There was no money surrendered, and the manager contacted the police.
Officers arrived on-scene within minutes and apprehended Danielle in the bank’s parking lot. The bank was evacuated, and the Explosive Ordinance Disposal team responded and swept the premises. The sweep revealed no hazards, according to police.
Post Miranda, Danielle confessed to making the bomb threat and attempting to rob the bank. Danielle was arrested and transported to Orient Road Jail.
