TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Police have arrested 22-year-old Joshua Thomas following a shooting on December 3, 2024, in the 4200 block of Patsy Court.
Officers responded to the Silver Oaks Apartments at approximately 9:10 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the victim and Thomas, who were known to each other, were at Thomas’s residence when a verbal altercation escalated.

Police say Thomas retrieved a firearm and shot the victim multiple times.
As officers rendered first aid to the victim, Thomas approached him and reportedly stated the victim “shouldn’t have made [him] do it.” Thomas was immediately taken into custody at the scene.
Thomas was transported to the Orient Road Jail and has been charged with:
- One Felony Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree with a Firearm
- One Felony Count of Aggravated Battery
Tampa Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
