TAMPA, FL. – A suspect is in custody after flashing a firearm at an officer around 1:30 am in Tampa.
According to Tampa Police, an officer was searching for a suspect wanted in an armed robbery and commercial burglaries in the area of Nebraska Ave and Linebaugh Ave.
Police say when the officer drove by the suspect, the suspect flashed a firearm and pointed it at the officer.
The officer fired at the suspect, who police say, fled on foot and was apprehended shortly after.
There were no injuries according to investigators. “The defendant’s firearm was recovered at the scene,” Tampa Police Department said in a statement.
