TAMPA, FL. – As the Tampa Bay Lightning head back to the playoffs, the City of Tampa is honoring our defending Stanley Cup champions by unveiling a giant “Go Bolts” banner outside City Hall.
Mayor Jane Castor, Tampa Bay Lightning representative, Jay Feaster, ThunderBug, and fans will come together on Friday to drop the banner on the side of the Tampa Municipal Office building, where it will proudly hang throughout the Lightning’s quest to victory.
Last year, the Tampa Bay Lightning clinched the Stanley Cup Championship title. This year, fans are excited to cheer the team on once again, with some fans returning to the stands after a year of COVID-19 safety restrictions limited in-person attendance for games.
In a statement, the City said, “Mayor Jane Castor, the City of Tampa, and all of Champa Bay wish the Tampa Bay Lightning good luck on the road to repeat! Go Bolts!”
