According to court documents, Scott, a 10-time convicted felon, recruited several individuals to assist him in passing counterfeit Federal Reserve notes in Ocala and St. Johns County. He provided these individuals with the counterfeit currency and directed them to use it at retail stores.

Scott was already serving a sentence in Hillsborough County for a counterfeit-related crime when he was brought to Jacksonville on a writ to face federal charges.

He was also wanted on a felony warrant in Hernando County for an unrelated financial crime.
