TAMPA, FL. – A 20-year-old Tampa man was killed on I-75 early Saturday morning crossing lanes on I-75 after a crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say on Saturday, around 5:35 AM, a 2018 Fiat sedan, driven by the Tampa man, was traveling southbound in the outside lane of I-75.
Near the 257 Milepost, a 2014 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, was traveling southbound on I-75 ahead of the Fiat.
Troopers say the Fiat overtook and collided with the rear of the tractor-trailer.
Both vehicles came to a stop along the outside shoulder of the highway.
Following this initial crash, the driver of the Fiat exited the vehicle and a short time later attempted to cross the southbound lanes of I-75.
