TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man, Trentavius Quntez Scott, 37, has admitted to passing counterfeit money in multiple counties across Florida. Scott pleaded guilty to federal charges on September 26, 2024.
According to court documents, Scott recruited individuals to help him pass counterfeit bills in Ocala and St. Johns County. He provided the counterfeit currency to his accomplices and instructed them on how to use it.

This case was investigated by the Ocala Police Department, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Secret Service.
Scott faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison and is also wanted on an unrelated felony warrant in Hernando County.
