TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 37-year-old Tampa man died after two drivers ran red lights on Hillsborough Avenue early Sunday morning.
According to FHP, a Dodge Journey and a red 2005-2007 model Honda Odyssey were driving east on Hillsborough Avenue in adjacent lanes when they both ran the red light at the northbound exit ramp from SR-589 at 2:30 a.m.
According to FHP, a 24-year-old Jacksonville man drove a Dodge Charger into the intersection under a green light, colliding with the Honda, which then collided with the Dodge Journey.

Troopers say the Honda fled the scene after the crash while the Dodge Journey and Charger flipped and rotated.
The 37-year-old Tampa man riding in the Dodge Journey was partially thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, according to authorities. The driver of the charger was not injured in the crash.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 42-year-old Tampa woman driving the Dodge Journey was later arrested for DUI Manslaughter.
