Tampa Man Killed In Sumter County, Ejected From His Jeep And Hit By Pickup Truck

SUMTER COUNTY, FL. – A 34-year-old Tampa man was killed in a crash that happened on Saturday around 1:18 pm in Sumter County.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the Tampa man was eastbound on CR-476, west of CR-476B, when he lost control of his Jeep Wrangler.

Troopers say the Jeep departed the roadway and entered the south shoulder.

The man over-corrected and the Jeep traveled across the roadway twice before entering the south shoulder again, overturning and colliding with the wood line.

The man was ejected from the Jeep and collided with a Ford F350, which was traveling northbound on CR-476B.

Troopers say the man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
