Tampa Man Killed In Interstate Collision After Attempting To Rescue Dog

TAMPA, Fla. – A 23-year-old Tampa man lost his life on the night of July 13th, 2024, in a tragic accident on US-301 at the northbound entrance ramp to I-75.

The incident occurred after a minor two-vehicle collision involving the man’s girlfriend.

Upon arriving at the scene to assist, the man’s Doberman dog exited the vehicle and ran onto the roadway.

In an attempt to retrieve his pet, the man stepped into the path of an oncoming Honda CRV and was struck.

The driver of the Honda, a 31-year-old Plant City woman, was uninjured. Tragically, the man was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The dog was also killed in the accident.
