HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 29-year-old Tampa man died in a crash around 11:04 am on Sunday in Hernando County.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling northbound on US-301 (Treiman Boulevard) north of Belt Drive.
Troopers say the driver lost control of the truck and entered the southbound lanes, striking the Tampa man’s car nearly head-on.

The pickup truck then continued north and struck a second car.
Troopers say the pickup truck then traveled to the east shoulder and overturned.
According to FHP, the Tampa man suffered fatal injuries at the crash scene.
The pickup-truck driver, a 19-year-old Zephyrhills man, suffered serious injuries in the crash, with the driver of the second car, a 26-year-old Wesley Chapel man, sustaining only minor injuries.
