The suspect, 35-year-old Silvio Franco Peralta, confessed to stabbing the male victim after admitting to him his involvement in a prior, related homicide with a female victim. Peralta claimed the male victim threatened him with a firearm, but evidence at the scene did not support his claim.
Peralta fled on foot but was later apprehended by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies. He has been charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and armed burglary in connection with both homicides.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the initial homicide involving the female victim.
