TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man is facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder, after a fatal stabbing incident on July 13, 2024, led police to uncover his connection to a previous homicide.

Silvio Franco Peralta, 35, confessed to authorities that he sought help from the male victim on N Packwood Ave to dispose of evidence from the prior crime, ultimately leading to a confrontation and the victim’s tragic death.

On Saturday, Tampa Police responded to a report of aggravated battery in the 8700 block of N Packwood Ave, where they found an adult male victim with fatal upper body trauma.

The suspect, 35-year-old Silvio Franco Peralta, confessed to stabbing the male victim after admitting to him his involvement in a prior, related homicide with a female victim. Peralta claimed the male victim threatened him with a firearm, but evidence at the scene did not support his claim.

Peralta fled on foot but was later apprehended by Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies. He has been charged with first-degree murder, tampering with evidence, and armed burglary in connection with both homicides.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation into the initial homicide involving the female victim.
