HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. -A Tampa man has been arrested in Hernando County for allegedly transporting unlawful fuel.
On November 5th, Hernando County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Econoline van in Brooksville. During the stop, deputies observed a large caged tank containing an unknown fluid, along with pumps and hoses. The driver, 25-year-old Dennis Anthony Miles Jr. of Tampa, claimed the equipment was related to HVAC work but could not provide further details.

Detectives were called to the scene and, after further investigation, determined probable cause for a charge of unlawful conveyance of fuel. The vehicle was transported to an impound lot for inspection.
The inspection revealed two 100-gallon tanks containing what is believed to be used cooking oil, which can be used as biofuel in diesel vehicles. Miles declined to answer any questions about the vehicle or its contents.

He was arrested and charged with transporting dangerous material/unlawful conveyance of fuel and is currently being held without bond in the Hernando County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
