TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa International Airport (TPA) will suspend all commercial and cargo operations beginning at 9 a.m. tomorrow, October 8th, in preparation for Hurricane Milton. The airport will remain closed to the public until a damage assessment can be conducted after the storm passes.

The airfield and terminals have been secured, including jet bridges and ground equipment. Peter O. Knight, Tampa Executive, and Plant City Airports, also managed by the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, will close in a similar timeframe.

Important Reminders:

  • TPA is not a shelter: The airport is located in an evacuation zone and is not equipped to serve as a public shelter. Emergency services will not be available.
  • Parking garages will be closed: Do not bring vehicles to the airport for parking during the closure.
