TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling from Tampa International Airport to westbound SR 60 (Memorial Highway) and northbound SR 589 (Veterans Expressway) should be aware of temporary ramp closures. These closures will be in effect from 11 p.m. on Monday, September 9, to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 10, weather permitting.

During this time, drivers exiting the airport will need to use the Spruce Street ramp and follow a detour route that includes Spruce Street, Westshore Boulevard, and Kennedy Boulevard to access SR 60 and SR 589.

The closures are necessary for overhead sign installation work related to the ongoing widening of westbound SR 60. This $45.5 million project is adding an extra travel lane and constructing a new flyover ramp in the area.

Drivers should expect delays and be alert for construction workers and signage in the work zone.
