TAMPA, Fla. – The City of Tampa has unveiled its first Eco-Counter, a high-visibility digital device that counts pedestrians and bicyclists in real-time at the corner of North Boulevard and West Cass Street.
The Eco-Counter will display daily and annual counts, promoting a healthy lifestyle and providing valuable data for urban planning.
This data will help monitor usage patterns and trends along the Green Spine, encouraging more people to choose cycling and walking over driving.

Tampa currently boasts over 130 miles of bike facilities, with further expansion planned through projects like the West Riverwalk and Green Spine extensions.
The Eco-Counter aligns with the city’s M.O.V.E.S. Plan, which prioritizes safe and equitable transportation options.
