TAMPA, Fla. – Firefighters responded to a fire at the Hyde Park Cafe in Tampa on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:32 p.m. at the single-story commercial building located on W. Platt Street.
Crews arrived to find heavy smoke billowing from the roof of the cafe. Firefighters quickly launched an interior attack, using hose lines to combat the flames. An aerial ladder truck was also deployed to access the roof.

The fire was brought under control within 25 minutes, preventing further damage to the structure.
The building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported to civilians or firefighters. However, traffic along W. Platt Street was rerouted for approximately 90 minutes during rush hour as crews worked to extinguish the fire and secure the scene.
Tampa Fire Marshal investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
