Richard Glenn Kantwill (Tampa, DOJ)

Tampa Dentist Indicted For Sending Death Threats To Dozens Of Victims

TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa dentist, Richard Glenn Kantwill, 60, has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly transmitting threats to injure or kill across state lines.

The indictment alleges that Kantwill sent approximately 100 threatening messages to over 40 victims between August 2019 and July 2020 via email, social media, and text messages.

The content of these messages, according to court documents, included threats of violence, racist language, and expressions of disdain for law enforcement.

Kantwill also allegedly boasted about his firearms collection and desire to acquire illegal weapons.

If convicted on all counts, Kantwill could face up to 15 years in federal prison. He has been appointed a public defender, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation is investigating the case.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office has filed a motion for pretrial detention, arguing that Kantwill poses a danger to the community due to the nature of the threats, his disregard for law enforcement, and his access to firearms.

Editors note: If you read the emails and messages allegedly sent by this man to a news journalist, you can feel his anger. But why? Because a journalist has a different viewpoint? We are supposed to have different viewpoints, and civil debate is normal.

These messages are depraved.

The Tampa Free Press readers know that our political commentary is right-leaning, but we appreciate all views and expect pushback. Again, this is normal and welcome in a civil manner.

I received this email below this morning, Saturday, June 22, 2024.

“Go fu*k yourself you prick faced morons – you’re just perfect for that ugly a*s Reid,” said the author of the email.

How did we get here, and how do we fix this?

“If you’re hanging around with nothing to do and the zoo is closed, come over to the Senate. You’ll get the same kind of feeling and you won’t have to pay.” – Senator Bob Dole.
