TAMPA, Fla. – The city of Tampa continues to shine as a premiere events destination, supporting tourism recovery while keeping public safety at the forefront.
On the heels of hosting a historic Super Bowl, Tampa is gearing up to welcome another major event this week–WWE’s WrestleMania 37, which was originally scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, California this year. This is one of several events, conventions, and meetings that are relocating to Tampa from other cities.
The Tampa Convention Center also continues to be awarded returning and relocating conventions that will have a significant economic impact in our community. Some of the major conventions that have recently selected Tampa include the Teen Action Summit (relocated from Washington, DC), the American Academy of Dermatology (relocated from New York, NY), and the National Conference of State Legislators (relocated from Chicago, IL).
The Tampa Convention Center is also preparing for the return of numerous upcoming conventions which were previously rescheduled due to COVID-19.
“The Tampa Convention Center is open for business,” said Una Garvey, Convention Center and Tourism Director. “Through our relationships that allowed clients to easily reschedule due to COVID-19, to our GBAC Star Certification, TCC’s Ready Together Campaign and co-hosting a successful Super Bowl LV, we are leading the way towards the recovery of our industry as our clients and guests return to the business of convening.”
Last September, Tampa Convention Center became the first venue in Tampa Bay to achieve its GBAC Star Certification, the gold standard of prepared facilities for maintaining cleaning protocols, training, infections disease preparation and response. The highly regarded TCC Ready Together Campaign is a program where TCC management has implemented several cleaning and distancing guidelines in order to host events safely and responsibly.
Below is a list of recently contracted upcoming conventions, meetings and events through the remainder of the calendar year:

With over 40 events currently on the books, Tampa remains active in recruiting additional conventions, meetings, and events who are exploring relocation options.
