TAMPA, Fla. – Tropical Storm Debby is approaching the West Florida coastline, prompting officials to urge Tampa Bay residents to stay indoors and avoid driving. The storm is expected to bring heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours, increasing the risk of flooding in low-lying areas and near bodies of water.
Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution on Monday morning and avoid driving through flooded roads. In any life-threatening emergency, residents should call 911 immediately.
For non-emergency situations, the Tampa Police Department’s non-emergency line is (813) 231-6130. Flooding can be reported to the Stormwater Customer Service Line at (813) 274-3101.

Residents and business owners who experience non-life-threatening storm damage are encouraged to report it through the Resident Damage Self Reporting Form found on the City of Tampa’s website (tampa.gov/SelfReport). This information will help city officials assess the storm’s impact and potentially qualify for state and federal assistance. It is important to note that this form does not replace private property insurance claims.
