TAMPA, Fla. – A Tampa man is in the hospital with serious injuries after his bicycle collided with a car on North Florida Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. The incident occurred just south of East 124th Street when the bicyclist attempted to cross the road but failed to yield to oncoming traffic.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, a 77-year-old woman from Tampa was driving a Nissan Sentra northbound on Thursday on North Florida Avenue, just south of East 124th Street.

At approximately 2:39 PM, a 28-year-old Tampa man on a bicycle attempted to cross the road but failed to yield to the oncoming car.
The bicycle collided with the front right side of the Sentra.

The driver of the car was unharmed, but the bicyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
