Tampa Bicyclist Killed In Collision With Motorized Scooter On Dale Mabry Highway

TAMPA, Fla. – A 72-year-old Tampa man was killed Saturday evening after his bicycle collided with a motorized scooter on Dale Mabry Highway.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred at approximately 7:38 p.m. on March 8, 2025, in the 11000 block of Dale Mabry Highway.

A 41-year-old Tampa woman was operating a motorized scooter southbound in the right turn lane. A 72-year-old Tampa man was riding a bicycle southbound on Dale Mabry Highway, traveling along the lane marker separating the right turn lane and the outside travel lane.

As the scooter operator merged into the outside travel lane, she overtook and collided with the bicyclist north of Hudson Lane.

The scooter operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The bicyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
