JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In Preseason Week Two, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-7, with the Bucs’ defense stealing the show. Despite a strong five-sack performance, including three by Jose Ramirez, errors ultimately sealed their fate.
The game started with rookie running back Bucky Irving leading the Bucs’ first drive, but an incompletion forced a punt. The Jaguars then took the field, with Bryce Hall’s interception negated by a penalty. The Bucs’ next drive showcased the talents of Irving, McMillan, and Miller, yet they couldn’t convert on third down.

The Jaguars’ ensuing possession saw Ramirez make an impact with two sacks, but a 25-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Washington put them on the board. The Bucs responded with a touchdown of their own, tying the game at 7-7. However, a field goal by the Jaguars gave them a 10-7 lead at halftime.
The Jaguars extended their lead in the second half with another field goal and a touchdown, while the Bucs’ offense struggled.
The defense continued to impress with sacks by Watts, Uguak, and Ramirez. Despite a touchdown by DJ Williams being called back due to a penalty, the Bucs couldn’t capitalize, and the Jaguars furthered their lead to 20-7.
The Bucs were unable to mount a comeback, ending with a final score of 20-7. The Bucs’ defense showed promise, but the team’s offensive struggles ultimately cost them the game.

The Miami Dolphins will meet the Bucs at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Friday, August 23rd, for the final preseason game.
